Book Review | Andromeda’s Vengeance, L.B. Benson

Goodreads Blurb:

Nerissa Faelan never wanted to be queen. After the usurper Dargan Blackwell killed the last queen and sent his soldiers to wipe out the priestesses from the temples, her only thought was to survive without being noticed.

After sailing away with Captain William Lennox she wasn’t sure she would see Selennia again, let alone be returning to claim her birthright. Left reeling from the revelations of a fateful winter in New Aphros under the tutelage of Madame Salome, Nerissa finds no other option than to take a stand against the spread of Blackwell’s cruelty if she and her friends wish to ever live in peace.

After almost a decade as King, Dargan Blackwell still struggles to gain the loyalty of the country he took by force. When Nerissa offers the unthinkable, will the superstitions of the common people encourage him to reply to her offer? Or will the machinations of pirates and priestesses fall prey to his cruel whims? With Lennox, her sister priestesses, and their loyal crew, Nerissa now seeks allies to unite behind her power and return to retake Selennia and unleash her vengeance.

My Thoughts:

My gosh this was such a wonderful third and final book to complete the Andromeda’s Account trilogy. I love a trilogy, and to find one where the character arcs progress and there is growth, and all the plot points tie up nicely, it makes it so much better.

It was so nice to spend time reading about Nerissa again, she is so gosh darn badass and I just really lo be her so much! I really love her relationship with Lennox too, there is so much trust there and they are so sweet with each other. Especially with some of the challenges thrown at them in this book. As always I loved reading about the side characters too, they are all so interesting, and I love how they don’t just feel like props for the MCs.

This novel was such an exciting read too, there was a lot going on but the story never felt too crowded. It had great pacing too, once I started reading I just couldn’t stop. I got so nervous and stressed near the end there too, there was so much at stake. I really liked the epilogue too, something which I don’t always enjoy, it tied things up nicely.

I’m so sad that this trilogy is finished up now but I am so excited to see what L.B. writes next. It has been so good to be able to read these books, I love the characters and their story. If you’re into pirates, great characters and an exciting plot this trilogy is for you.
